Bio

Dr Don Zachariah completed his bachelors of medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2007 and began his medical journey serving communities in Mpumalanga. He qualified as a specialist physician through the College of Medicine of South Africa in 2013 and later went on to complete his cardiology certification in Johannesburg. He further pursued an advanced complex interventions fellowship after this and then relocated to Klerksdorp.
For the past 7 years, Dr Zachariah has shaped cardiac care in our area with sheer indefatigability working across both the private and public health sectors. His tireless efforts to provide equal services to all members of this region, being the only state sector cardiologist in this region, shows his passion for the field and his deep-rooted obligation to the community.
He is well published and belongs to various academic committees of the South African Heart Association (SAHA) as well as assists with Fellowship training in cardiology. With over a decade of cardiology experience, Dr Zachariah embarks on a new chapter of his life, leading the development of our new state-of the-art cardiac unit. Together with his unmatched perspicacity, coupled by his firm grasp of our local cardiovascular disease, we hope to advance cutting edge cardiac care in this area.
